It is a wooden stool and atop it, a reel-to-reel tape recorder. The shoots that curl up the legs of the stool look pale and new, but the state of the recorder and the stool show the set-up has been here for about as long as the technology has been invented. The ailing state of the recording is apparent, echoes, distortions, and cracks consume the sound, but it is miraculous how well it has held up through it's unending performance.
